James Andrew Whitley

James Andrew Whitley, 69 of Wilson passed away Friday.  The family will receive friends to celebrate his life on Monday evening from 5 – 7 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

James was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend to all he knew, he never met a stranger.  He enjoyed conversations with them and would be very direct with what he thought.  James was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

James is survived by his wife, Susan Barnette Whitley; son, Jason Alan Whitley; brother, Johnny Ray Whitley, Sr; nephews, Johnathan Ray Whitley and Johnny Ray Whitley, Jr.; great nephew, Noah Ray Whitley; sister-in-law, Nancy Davis and husband, Ray; brothers-in-law, Steve Barnette and wife, Kim and Jay Barnette and wife, Xiao Di, and his mother-in-law, Carolyn Barne

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Katie Maude Whitley, and sister-in-law, Althea Whitley.
