  James Clifton “Buddy” Gardner, 92, of Wilson passed away Friday.  Funeral services will be conducted 7 p.m. Monday at Joyner’s Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Donnie K. Price, Jr. will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday evening immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway and other times at the residence. Buddy was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.  He was a longtime member of Rosebud Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon and an active member.  Buddy enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Buddy is survived by his wife, Hilda Allen Barfield Gardner of the home; his son, Donny Gardner and wife, Lori of Wilson; his daughter, Frances Gardner Hutchinson and husband, Kenneth of Williamston; his step-daughters, Nancy Barfield Norfleet and husband,  Michael of Raleigh and Cindy Barfield Childress and husband, Dale of Elm City; his eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Deans Gardner; his parents, Jim and Lillie Gardner; and his brothers, Edward “Pete” Gardner, Allen Gardner, Garland Gardner and Hubert Gardner.
