James Carlton "J.C" Hawley

James Carlton “J.C.”  Hawley, 81 of Elm City went home to be with his Lord on Thursday morning, May 4, 2023.  The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 2 – 4 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.  A private burial will be held at a later date.

 

J.C. was a loving husband, father, grandad “Papa J”, brother and friend to all who knew him.  He was a devoted employee for thirteen years with Wilson County Farm Supply and he enjoyed eating breakfast every morning at Amy Jo’s with his friends.

 

J.C. is survived by his daughters, Robin Ange and husband, Bill of Wilmington, and Rhonda Chalmers and husband, Scott of Raleigh; grandchildren, John Ange, Avery Ange, and Christian Chalmers; his sisters, Paulette Hawley Pittman, and Atha Price and husband, Earl; sisters-in-law, Rose Hawley, and Jane Hawley Lamm; many nieces and nephews, and  his faithful four-legged companion, Jasmine that would sit with him all day on the front porch.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ann Howell Hawley; parents, James Ollie and Dot Hawley, and his brothers, Harold Hawley and Randy Hawley.
