James Part Howell, Jr. March 26, 1958 – December 1, 2020 James Part Howell, Jr., 62 of Wilson passed away Tuesday. His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Black Creek Town Cemetery, Black Creek. The Rev. Steve Edmondson will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 12:30 – 1:45 at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. For James, it was God first, then his family and self-last. Singing was his passion, as his voice was a true gift from God. He will forever be remembered as the best tenor there was or will ever be. James is survived by his loving wife of eighteen years, Cathy C. Howell; son, Spencer J. Howell; step-daughter, Emily Brown; sister, Sandra Howell; brother, Adam Trent Howell and wife, Melissa; in-laws, Dale and Joan Crabtree; brother-in-law, Donald Dale Crabtree and wife, Rita and several nieces and nephews.
