James "Jimmy" Tant

Jimmy Tant, 77, of Elm City passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2025, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Pastor Allen Langley will officiate.

The family will receive friends Friday afternoon prior to the service from 12:30 – 1:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

James is survived by his wife of thirty-nine wonderful years, Amy Tant; daughters, Teresa Mizell, Jessica Deaver, and Brittany Tant; grandsons, Robert Tant and Brentley Mizell; sisters, Linda Bunn, Joy Tant, and Jewel Tant, and his brother Samuel Tant.

He was preceded in death by his son, James Aaron Tant, and his parents, Walter and Margaret Tant.
