James Phillip Lewis, Sr.

James Phillip Lewis, Sr., 83 of Wilson passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2026, at First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 2000 Ruan Drive, Wilson. Pastor John Mark Horrell will officiate.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon prior to the service from 3 – 4:45 p.m. at First Pentecostal Holiness Church, Wilson.

James is survived by his loving wife, Betty Jo Lamm Lewis; daughter, Terri L. Boykin and husband, Tom of Wilson; grandsons, Joshua Lewis of Morehead City and Nathan Boykin, III and wife, Mary of Wilson; granddaughter, Natalie Salter and husband, Jordan of Goldsboro and his great-grandchildren, Makayla Lewis, Jacob Lewis, Haisley Boykin, Oaklynn Salter, Hallie Boykin and Braxley Salter.

He was preceded in death by his son, James P. Lewis, Jr.
