James David Morgan

James David Morgan, 94, passed away at his daughter’s house on Monday, August 28.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 2 at 2:00 pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 5975 US Highway 70 East, La Grange.  Graveside will be held at 4:00 pm at Bailey Cemetery.  Reverend Johnny Pike and Reverend Ricky Garner will officiate.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, September 2 from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church.

James is survived by his daughter, Greta Sutton and husband, Clifton of La Grange; daughter, LaRue Howell Sutton of La Grange; son, Dempsey Harris, Jr. and wife, Sue of Jacksonville; daughter-in-law, Wanda Barnhill of Rembert, SC; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

James was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy Lewis Morgan; son, Raymond Barnhill, III; parents, William Morgan and Martha Goodwin Morgan; brother, Bill Morgan; and sons-in-law, Reverend Danny Howell and Thomas Sutton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 5975 US Highway 70 East, La Grange, NC 28551.
