James Ray Owens

James Ray Owens, 81, of Elm City, passed away on Saturday. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, November 28, 2022, at Joyner’s Funeral Home. Rev. Vernon Morris will officiate. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 – 1:45, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

James is survived by his son, Ray Owens; grandsons, Daniel Owens and Ashlee & Caleb Owens and Bailey; his sister, Ruby Pittman, and daughter-in-law, Becky Owens.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Howell Owens; daughter, Sheila Beth Owens; granddaughter, Kristen Lynn Owens; parents, James and Emma Owens and stepbrother, Raymond Mercer.
