James Alton Parnell

James “Alton” Parnell, 76, of Wilson passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2025, in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Rev. Patsy Jones and Rev. Lee Britt will officiate.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 5 – 5:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Alton graduated from Lucama High School in 1968 and had a long and rewarding career with Carolina Telephone and retired after forty-four years of service.

Alton is survived by his loving wife of fifty-five years, Wanda “Kay” Parnell; his son, Ricky Parnell and wife, Angie and his special fur baby, Taz.
