Jean Stone Burnette

Jean Stone Burnette, 95, of Nash County went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 30.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 4 at 11:00 am at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.  Interment will be held immediately following funeral services at FW Stone Memorial Cemetery in Middlesex.  The Reverend Tracy Stone and Reverend Joe Leonard will officiate.

She was born in Nash County, the daughter of the late Dwight W. Stone and Dottie Stone.

Jean retired from NC Department of Motor Vehicles in Raleigh, after 35 years of service.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Burnette; brothers, Raymond Stone, Rev. Roland Stone, Rev. B. Dee Stone, and J.R. Stone; and sister, Mavis Stone Batts. 

Jean is survived by one brother, Billy Stone (Nancy) of Bailey; two sisters Lucy Stone and Joan Goodman (Grady) of Middlesex; and several nieces and nephews.
