Jean Whitley Eatmon

Jean W. Eatmon, 85 of Wilson passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023 peacefully in the arms of Jesus surrounded by her loved ones.  A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson, with Pastor Wayne Whitley officiating.

The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 12:30 – 1:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Left behind to cherish her memory, is her loving son, Gregory D. Eatmon of Wilson and his children, Sara Eatmon and her number one grandson, Matthew Eatmon,; granddaughters, Cristy Minshew and husband, Bill of Chesapeake, Virginia and their children, Allison Breslin and husband, David of Warrenton, Virginia and Lindsy Stamenkovich of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Meagan Wooten and husband, Chris of Wilson, and their children, Olivia Wooten, Kate Wooten, and Eliza Wooten; sister, Kay Williams and husband, Donald of Wilson; brother, Van Peaden and wife, Rita of Durham; several nieces and nephews, and her beloved furbaby, Buddy.  Her life revolved around her sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Eatmon, Jr.; oldest son, Gary W. Eatmon; mother, Josephine W. Peaden; sister, Edna Earle W. Green and her brothers, Tommy Whitley and James Whitley.

The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks for the excellent care and love that was given to Jean by Hospice of Wilson.

She is just away in a land of light and peace, where warmth and love abound and wordly difficulties cease.  She is just away, but her memory remains, and the love she left within each of our hearts will help to ease our pain.
