Jeffrey Allen Etheridge June 23, 1972 – August 29, 2020 On August 29, 2020 our own Elvis left the building. Some friends called him “Catfish”, while others called him “The Commander” but we called him dad or Jeff. Jeffrey Allen Etheridge born on June 23,1972 in Charleston, South Carolina peacefully passed away. The family will receive friends Friday, September 4, 2020 in the afternoon from 12 – 1:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson with his funeral service following at 2 p.m. in our chapel with interment in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. The Rev. Rusty Russell will officiate. An evening Celebration of Life will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at the Wayne Gay Farm, Wilson. Leaving behind his most treasured gifts, his children or as he would say, “legacies of my loins”, his son, Brandon A. Etheridge of Wilson, and daughter, Madison A. Etheridge of Wilmington. Also surviving are his mother, Patsy Etheridge of Wilson; sister, Sharon Finch and husband Cooper of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. And we certainly could not forget his USAF brothers, Scottie, Bubba, Buzz, Walker, Tony, J.R., Gino and Larry and USAF sister, Cindy. He was proceeded in death by his father, Charles A. Etheridge; his sister, Beverly Spencer and brother-in-law, Kent Spencer, Jr aka “Termite”. Jeff served in the United States Airforce from 1994-1998. He had the distinct honor to be chosen for the United States Presidential Honor Guard stationed in Washington, DC. He was a graduate of Barton College. Jeff was a fanatic over his UNC Tar-Heel’s and the Carolina Panthers. He was a music lover and taught his children the value of a “good tune”, it was always his therapy. Jeff enjoyed discussing politics and letting you know he’s a Republican and Trump supporter over a plate of BBQ and some Sweet Tea. But above all else, his love for his family and friends were most important. In lieu of flowers, his children ask you to please raise your glass at your favorite watering hole, where you are instructed to tie a few on and tell a few stories of the great Jeff Etheridge.
