Jennifer LaRue Moye Lia

Jennifer LaRue Moye Lia, 77 of Wilson passed away Monday, March 9, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Stantonsburg Cemetery, Stantonsburg. Bobby Godwin, Jr. will officiate.

The family will receive friends Friday evening, March 13, 2026, from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Jennifer was born and raised in Wilson and spent seventeen years in New York with her husband before returning home. She graduated from Wilson Community College with an LPN degree and worked at Britthaven of Wilson, now Wilson Pines for over thirty-two years. Jennifer loved the beach, gardening, hummingbirds and cardinals. Her favorite joy and love were her family especially her grandbabies. Jennifer was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Jennifer is survived by her daughters, Karen Lia Lamm; Sally Lia Edmondson; granddaughters, Alexis Godwin and husband, Ryan, Maranda Cates and husband, Kendall, Samantha Ballance and Jennifer Edmondson; grandsons, James Minshew and wife, Chelsea, Joseph Minshew, and Bobby Edmondson, Jr.; eleven great-grandchildren; special sons-in-law, Dickie Minshew and Bobby W. Edmondson; sister, Phyllis Moye Raper; brother, Linwood Moye, Jr., and many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixteen years, James Thomas Lia, and her parents, Linwood and Sallie Mae Moye.
