Jim Barry Worrell was born in Wilson and grew up in Stantonsburg, North Carolina. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love and unforgettable memories.

Barry was the co-owner of Worrell’s Used Cars and Valumax Motors, where he worked with his family. He spent countless hours at car auctions creating special friendships through the years. A true car enthusiast, he had an expertise and passion for all things automotive, especially classic cars. He always went above and beyond helping friends and family with any car advice. Barry was known for his vibrant personality and his ability to light up any room. “The Dude”, as his friends called him, was a great friend to many, and always ready with a joke or good story. He had fond memories of spending time with his cousins at his grandparents’ homes, and riding dirt bikes with his brother, Greg.
Barry found great joy at Atlantic Beach. He made lasting memories with family and friends, while grilling out and taking boat trips to all the sandbars nearby. After retiring in 2020, he relocated there to fulfill his dream of living on the coast. While there, he opened Coastal Motorsports so he could continue his hobby of collecting and selling classic cars.
Barry was a loving husband and a proud father. His love for his family was unwavering, and he took great pride in being present in their lives. Barry will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his kindness, humor, infectious laugh, and the joy he brought to others.
