Jimmie Moore Crane Hargett, 91, of Sims passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Central United Methodist Church, 801 S Hayne Street, Monroe.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 – 10:45 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church.
Jimmie played the organ and she loved to sing in the church choir. She sang at Westminster Abbey Church in London and traveled with the choir to London, Germany, Austria, France, Scotland and Ireland. She was an avid book reader. Jimmie was Deputy Grand Regent for North Carolina with the Women of the Moose Lodge. She was selected as the First Woman of the Moose out of half a million women. She loved her church and served faithfully. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Jimmie is survived by her daughters, Karen Pittman (Bobby), and Deborah Hargett; granddaughters, Jami Mooring (Ken), and Krystal Grier; grandsons, David Pittman (Sarah), and Jonathan Pittman (Laura); eight great-grandchildren; her brother, Sandy Crane and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 ½ years, Donald Hargett; daughter, Sandra Hargett; parents, James Crane and Edna Antenucci; sister, Edna Ray Harkey.
