Jo Ann Gay Newcomb

Jo Ann Gay Newcomb August 10, 1938 – February 17, 2021 Jo Ann Gay Newcomb, 82 of Lucama passed away Wednesday. Her funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon in Kenly Town Cemetery, Kenly. The Rev. Shirley Dixon and Rev. Ervin Lewis will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday night following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Jo Ann is survived by her children, Linwood A. “Linn” Newcomb of Lucama, Michael W. Newcomb and wife, Michelle of Lucama, Tim Newcomb and wife, Deborah of Black Creek, Dale Newcomb and wife, Lorrie of Wilson, and Beth Murray and husband, Charles of Lucama; grandchildren, Chris, Melissa, Daniela, Wendy, Tyler, Jessica, Heather, Kim, Charlotte, Kathlyn, Rachel, Josh, Jonathan, Jennifer, Amanda, Christina; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Jacob, JuliAnn, Madison, Allison, David Michael, Matthew, Joey, Kandice, Liam, Mason, Hayden, Marley, Issach, Zoey, Cloey, Kailey, Little John, Jon Henry, Kinsley, Allisa, Noah, Conrad, and Nick and Somer Cummings; sisters, Oral Lee Bunting of Elm City, Judy Thorne of Elm City, Marilyn Jarman of Kinston, and Linda Poole of Elm City, and her brothers, Freddie Gay of Wilson and Johnny Gay of Wilson.
