Joann Deans Davis

Joann Deans Davis, 77, passed away on Monday, March 11.  A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 14 at 11:00 am at Contentnea Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Wilson, NC.

Joann started a long-term career with Export Leaf Tobacco Company shortly after graduating from high school that spanned nearly forty years.  She made many work relationships that she cherished.  She loved art and sketching.  In her retirement years, she enjoyed spending quality time at home with her husband, Tommy.

Joann is survived by her loving husband of forty-five years, Thomas “Tommy” Davis; stepdaughter, Kristi Davis and Tommy; step-granddaughter, Jordan Umphlett and husband, Taylor; step-grandson, Thomas Ellis; step-great-granddaughter, Sydney Umphlett; nephew, Kenneth Ray Deans; niece, Debra Cherry and husband, Christopher; and niece, Janet Finn and husband, Michael.

Joann was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lila Deans and her brother, Kenneth Ray Deans.
