John “Billy” William Hawley, Sr., 88 of Lucama passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023 with his family by his side. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Bizzell Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church Memorial Gardens, 4822 Bizzell Grove Church Road, Princeton. Pastor Tony Hawley and Pastor Phil Hawley will officiate.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Billy is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years, Rudean Evans Hawley; sons, John Hawley, Jr., and wife, Rose, Tony Hawley and wife, Joyce, and Phillip Hawley and wife, Pam; grandchildren, April Evans, Jennifer Hawley, William Hawley, Matthew Hawley, Benjamin Hawley, and Elizabeth La Pierre and husband, James; great-grandchildren, Makayla Hawley, and Cole, Austin, Madeline and Riley Evans; sister-in-law, Janice Hawley; niece, Carol Fulghum; nephew, Marty Pennington; and special family friend, Benjamin Woodard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Eva Langley Hawley; sisters, Doris Fulghum and Brenda Hawley, and his brother, James Paul Hawley.
