John "Johnny" Raymond Jones, III

John “Johnny” Jones, III, 67, of Wilson passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Bailey Town Cemetery, Bailey. Rev. Walt Tyndall and Rev. Matthew Roman will officiate.

The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon, August 2, 2025, from 1:30 – 2:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Johnny was a longtime employee of the Piggly Wiggly of Bailey and formerly of West Nash Red and White and the Winn Dixie. He was a wonderful loving father, brother and friend. Johnny will be dearly missed and thought of often.

Johnny is survived by his son, Justin Jones of Wilson; daughters, Hannah Scheffel and husband, Matt of Knightdale, and Leah Jones and fiancé, John Peluso of Apex; granddaughters, Nina Scheffel and Susanna Scheffel, Mila Peluso and Adelina Peluso; brother, Gregory “Greg” Chase Jones of Bailey; step-sisters, Pam Galloway of Wilson, and Debbie Stone and husband, Steve of Bailey; step-brother, Dennis Boykin and wife, Kay of Kinston.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Raymond and Wilhelmina Jones and step-mother, Tessie B. Jones.
