Kinchen "Marion" Goff

Kinchen Marion Goff, 89, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, October 30.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 1 at 3:00 pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway in Wilson.  A private interment will follow.  Nephew, Reverend Todd Narron will officiate.

 

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 1 from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home.

 

Marion served faithfully as a deacon at Kenly Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he was also Sunday School Superintendent and a member for sixty-one years.  In his free time, he was passionate about his beekeeping, where he even harvested his own honey.  He also loved spending time working in his peach and apple orchard.  Marion was also an avid sportsman and enjoyed traveling with his kids and grandchildren.

 

In his professional career, Marion served his country loyally in the Army overseas during the Korean Conflict.  Most notably, he was the Founder and President of KMG Construction and Goff Rentals that has served Wilson for over fifty years.

 

Marion was a loving husband, daddy, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be dearly missed by his friends and family.

 

The family would like to thank Marion’s dedicated team of caregivers, including Joan, Cheryl, Ashley, and Regenia.  A special thank you to Elizabeth for her unwavering care and dedication to our daddy.  Also, thanks to Hospice of Wilson for the care given to our daddy and our family, especially the care and dedication of Brittney Taylor.

 

Marion is survived by his son, Marion Langley Goff of Elm City; daughters, Terry Goff Wiggs and husband, Bill of Wilson and Kelly Goff Norville and husband, Dale of Wilson; grandchildren, Chelsey Marie Williams of Wilson, Marion Joshua Allen Williams of Wilson, Megan Goff Smith and husband, Jake of Bailey, Sydney Norville Sullivan and husband, Colby of Waynesville, and Peyton Lindsey Norville of Wilmington; step-grandchildren, Lora Wiggs Prevatte and husband, Darren of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Mallory Ann Wiggs of Hampstead, NC; great-grandchild, Harper Smith; step-great-grandchildren, Brayden and Maddox Prevatte; brother, Dennis Goff and wife, Anne of New Jersey; and best friend, JP Batten of Wilson.

 

Marion was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Nola Marie Narron Goff; and his parents, Robert and Pattie Goff; brothers, Prince Goff and Edward Goff; sisters, Reba Goff Barfield and Betty Lou Goff Capriglione.
