Larry Finch, 74 of Bailey passed away Friday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Bailey Town Cemetery, Bailey. The Rev. Adam Fulghum and Rev. Phil Hawley will officiate.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home.
Larry served his country with honor and pride with the US Navy. After the Navy, he tried his hands at many careers. He was a barber at Parkwood Barber Shop, a farmer and owner and operator of Finch Construction for forty years. Larry was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and a friend to all who knew him. He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed and thought of often with memories that will last forever.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Barbara Glover Finch of the home; daughters, Angie Stallings of Bailey and Carolyn Ellis and husband, Wayne of Middlesex; grandchildren, Elizabeth Stallings, Dillon Stallings, Brittany Maddrey (Jordan), Jacob Ellington, Jana Ellington (Hunter) and Caiden Ellis; great-grandchildren, Levi, Scarlett, Larken, and Laney, and Harper Renee who will arrive soon, and his brother, Gordon Finch and wife, Teresa of Bailey.
He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Steven Finch, and his parents, Rev. John C. and Miriam “Tootsie” Finch.
