October 16, 1956 – November 12, 2013

Larry Glenn Thigpen, 57, of Stantonsburg, passed away Tuesday.  Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday at Joyner’s Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson.  Pastor Rex Edwards will officiate. The family will receive friends 7 – 9 p.m. Thursday evening at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at 6667 Good News Church Road, Stantonsburg. Larry enjoyed hunting with his grandson, Cody and attending Wolfpack basketball games with his grandson, Alex.  In his spare time he coached many youth with the WCYAA baseball and basketball program, touching many hearts of his players.   Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all that knew him.  He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Larry will be thought of often with smiles, tears and joy that will touch the heart of his loved ones. Larry is survived by his wife, Kathy W. Thigpen of the home; his daughter, Charlotte Thigpen Bullock and husband, David of Stantonsburg; his grandsons, Alex and Cody Taylor; his step-granddaughter, Alexis Bullock; his sister, Linda Garris and husband, Johnny of Wilson; his brothers, Roy Thigpen and Barbara of Wilson and Danny Thigpen and wife, Wanda of Jackson, NJ and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Gregory “Greg” Thigpen and his parents, Andrew Jackson Thigpen and Mary Inez Barnes Thigpen.  Condolences may be directed to www.joyners.net
