Leslie Wayne Greene, 72 of Elm City, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 2nd, from 1:00pm to 1:45pm at Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church, 5917 Bridgersville Rd, Elm City, NC 27822. Funeral services will begin at 2:00pm with Pastor Chris Harris officiating, and Crystal Green sharing thoughts and readings. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Greene was a brick mason for forty-five years, and was a hardworking and loving husband and father, whom always made sure to make time for his children and grandchildren. He loved to go antiquing and bottle digging on the Tar River, especially after floods. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, UNC basketball, and cooking homemade chocolate cakes.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Greene; son, Jeremy Greene, and his wife Brittany; daughters, Bridget Pennington, her husband Wilton, and Melissa Coley, and her husband Justin; grandsons: Logan Greene, Chance Greene, Bryan Coley, Jayden Coley, Mason Pennington, and Eric Pennington; granddaughters: Brittney Collins, Skylar Greene, and Arianna Coley; brothers: Darell Greene, Ricky Greene, his wife Sherri, and Timmy Greene, and his wife Lori; sisters: Dee Bass, her husband Donny, Elsie Stokes, her husband Jimmie, Joyce Woodard, her husband Earl, Sandra Summerlin, and Linda Hill.
Preceding him in death are his parents, George and Sadie Greene; niece, Kristen Owens; and brother-in-law, Larry Summerlin.
