Lily Altman Mullinax, 90, a resident of Spring Arbor of Wilson for seven years passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, June 13, 2023, from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Funeral services will be held in Greenville, South Carolina at a later date.
Lily was a retired teacher and graduated from Furman University. She spent most of her life in Vienna, Virginia. Genealogy was her favorite hobby and she enjoyed reading and traveling.
Lily is survived by her daughters, Nancy Mullinax Stamper and husband, Rodney, of Wilson, and Julie Mullinax Crawford and husband, Richard, of Wichita, Kansas; grandsons, Gregory Michael Stamper and wife, Amanda of Bailey, Paul Mullinax of Richmond, Virginia, and Jimmy Mullinax of Athens, Georgia; great-granddaughter, Emma Sue Stamper of Bailey; sister, Christine Lee of Toccoa, Georgia; brothers, Knox Altman of Chevy Chase, Maryland, and John Altman of Dayton, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of fifty-nine years, Roy Paul Mullinax; son, Richard Roy Mullinax; her parents, Flavel and Daisy Altman, and three siblings.
