Linda Lee Thorne

Linda Lee Meacham Thorne, 79 of Wilson passed away Monday January 30, 2023.  Funeral services will be held Friday, February 3, 2023 at

11 am at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson, with Reverend Randy Jones officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 – 8 pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson

Linda was married to Wilbur Frank Thorne, who she met and married the same year. They had 63 wonderful years together.  Linda loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an active member of her church, Tabernacle Baptist Church where she spent many years dedicated to teaching children’s Sunday school and AWANA along with being a part of the hospitality committee.  She was an avid reader who loved to shop and find bargains and sales.

Linda is survived by her husband, Wilbur Frank Thorne, her son, Jeffery Thorne and wife Donna of Wilson and their children Amanda Thorne, Jessica Thorne and Danielle Thorne, her daughters, Teresa Barefoot and husband David of Wilson and their children Joy Aldrich (Matt), Kara Varnell (Caleb), Jeffery Barefoot (Amber), Christopher Barefoot and Caleb Barefoot (Quinn); Susan Daniels of Wilson and her children Judith Velaquez (Carlos) and Kristina Hudson (Thomas), and Rebekah Barr and husband Brian of Wilson, and their children Abigail Barr and Thorne Barr along with 16 great grandchildren, and sister Juanita Meacham Stokes Borthick of Tennessee.
