Lottie Davis Boykin

Lottie Davis Boykin of Wilson passed away Friday morning at age 97.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Marsh Swamp Free Will Baptist Church, 6664 Rock Ridge School Road, Sims. Visitation will be at the church starting at 10 a.m. She will be buried in the church cemetery following the service. The Rev. Ray Wells will officiate.
Lottie was the daughter of the late Jesse Floyd and Addie Davis and was raised in the Rock Ridge community with her nine brothers and sisters: A.O., Ollie, Mildred, Vera, Floyd, Carlton, Leland, Albert and Irvin. She was the last surviving sibling.
A faithful member of Marsh Swamp Free Will Baptist Church, she received a lifetime membership honor from the church Women’s Auxiliary. She was also active in the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 13.
Lottie was married to Fred Boykin for 61 years, and they raised four children who survive her: Freddie Boykin (Jack) of Wilton Manors, Florida; Donald Boykin (the late Judy) of Midlothian, Virginia; the Rev. Phillip Boykin (Joy) of Greenville; and Nancy Boykin of Wilson. She is also survived by grandchildren Amanda Batts (Hunter) of Greenville, Cole Boykin (Lindsay) of Durham, Hannah Johnson (Tanner) of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, and Laura Lee Boykin of Richmond, Virginia; great-grandchildren Paisley and Sadie Grace Batts of Greenville and Finn Boykin of Durham; sister-in-law Doris Davis of Rock Ridge; and many nieces and nephews.
