Louisa Margarita Hoegé “Margie” Stone, 94, peacefully entered her eternal rest on Monday, January 22.   A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 27 at 2:00 pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.  A private burial will be held for the family.

Margie was born to Anna and Oscar Hoegé in Venezuela.  In 1942, at the age of 12, Margie (Gretchen) traveled to Germany to visit her grandparents.   While there, during World War II, she met the love of her life—Junius B. Stone (JB).  Their love story continued when Margie returned to Venezuela and JB to Middlesex, NC.  In July 1949, JB traveled to Venezuela to propose to and marry his “bride” as he affectionately called her until his death in January 2011.

They were blessed with seven loving children, including surviving daughters, Linda Bailey and husband, Joey of Bailey, Peggy Lamm and husband, Larry of Bailey, and Dianna Langley of Winterville; sons, Spencer Stone and friend, Sandra of Bailey, Robbie Stone and wife, Lisa of Middlesex, and Alan Stone of Bailey; granddaughters, Whitney Lamm Poper and husband, Nick of Dunn and Olivia Lamm of Bailey; grandson, Tanner Stone of Clayton; great-grandchildren, Tallie Anne Poper and Ellie Stone Poper of Dunn; niece, Mercedes Machado, and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

In addition to her husband of sixty-one years, Junius B. Stone and their first-born son, Sonny B. Stone, Margie was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Frank Langley; sister, Lottie Hohn; and brother, Hans Hoegé.
