Luther Gene Williams

Luther Gene Williams, 64, of Wilson passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2026. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2026, at First Christian Church, 207 Tarboro Street, NE, Wilson.

Gene had a passion for golfing with his brothers and created many cherished memories in doing so. He worked as a dedicated leader at UPS, where he impacted many of his peers in profound ways for over twenty-five years. He loved to dance and was known by many as “Gene Gene the dancing machine.” Gene will be remembered as a loving father, brother, uncle and a friend by all who knew him.

Gene is survived by his daughters, Raquel Williams and husband, George Musgrove, Alexa Ellis and husband, Noah, and Liza Williams; brothers, Billy Williams and wife, Julie, John Williams and wife, Vondia, and Kent Williams and wife, Robin; nieces, Austin Williams, Sydney Williams and Sarah Blake Moss and his nephew, Will Williams.

He was preceded in death by parents, William and Billy Faye Williams and his sister, Llewellyn Swain.
