Mark Leslie Ellis, 81 passed away peacefully the morning of October 20, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2025, at Good News Church, 7000 Holdens Crossroads, Stantonsburg.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, October 23, 2025, from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home of Sharon Tripp.
Les was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Wilson and member of the Wilson Moose Lodge #989. He was owner/operator of Wilson Cycle Center/Carolina Motorsports for many years. Some of his passions included the love of motorcycles, playing cards with his buddies and spending time with all of his grandchildren. He touched many lives by helping everyone he could. Les grew up attending Good News Church and he continued to do so until he was unable. He loved and cherished his church family very much.
Les is survived by his daughters, Kim Dunn (Jeff) and Carrie Barberio (David) both of Stantonsburg; granddaughters, Kandice Scarberry (Kyle) of Wendell, Savannah Barberio (Spencer) of Sharpsburg; grandsons, Lee Dunn (Kimberly) of Wilson and Mark Dunn from Cary; great-grandsons, Jamal and Amari Crumel; special friend and caretaker, Sharon Tripp of Stantonsburg; sister, Linda Hughes (Henry) of Wilson; brother, Joseph Ellis of Raleigh, and several nieces, nephews, and many lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark Lee and Mattie Ellis; brothers, Phil Ellis and Dan Ellis, and his son-in-law, Richard Scarberry.
