Marvel Lee Godmer, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on July 7, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Marvel found her greatest joy in spending time with family and treasured every opportunity to gather with those she loved. She enjoyed taking walks near her longtime home in St. Charles, Michigan, and never passed up the chance to enjoy a favorite ice cream treat. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family created memories that will be cherished for generations.
As the proud wife of a military veteran, Marvel faithfully supported her country and stood beside her husband, William "Bill" Godmer, throughout his service and their many years together. Bill preceded her in death.
Also, preceding Marvel in death were her parents; her daughters, Monica Lynn Godmer and Renee Godmer Siniff; her brother, Terry Jankowiak; her sister, Sharon K. Mervin; and her son-in-law, Kenneth Mills.
Marvel is survived by her brothers, Robert, Patrick, and Philip, and their families; her five loving children, Tim Godmer, Vicki Fulghum, Terry Achenbach, Kevin Godmer, and Sandra Mills, along with their spouses; 21 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love, strength, and dedication to family lives on in each of them.
Marvel will be remembered for her caring spirit, quiet strength, and the love she shared so freely with those around her. She leaves behind a family deeply grateful for the time they had with her and comforted by the many treasured memories they shared.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Saginaw, Michigan. Details will be shared with family and friends at a later date.
"Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed, and forever dear."
