Marvette Marie Foster

Marvette Marie Foster, 72, was born to Frank and Mildred Foster on October 22, 1950 in New Orleans, LA. Home schooled in Bay St. Louis, MS, she returned to New Orleans to join the special education class at St. Peter Claver Elementary School.  She then attended the Crescent City School and the Strive Center Workshop, both in New Orleans, retiring from Strive in 2005. While at Strive, Marvette worked on various projects, which local businesses sent to the Center.  Because of her sociability, she enjoyed participating in activities at the Center, especially the Christmas Party and Mardi Gras. She loved walks in the park, watching her favorite TV programs, and was a two-time time participant in the city’s Special Olympics.  Marvette passed away after a brief illness, entering eternity on July 23, 2023.  She is survived by two sisters Cynthia and Deirdra Foster.  As she is greatly loved, she will be sorely missed.

Funeral arrangements are pending.  Father Fernando Torres will officiate.
