Mary Lou Moss Carter, 75 of Wilson, passed away on August 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at White Oak Hill Free Will Baptist Church in Bailey, on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 2:00pm. The rev. Hal Jones and Rev. Reuben Cason will officiate.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at White Oak FWB Church from 1:00-2:00pm.

Mary was a faithful member of White Oak Hill FWB Church for many years. She always put others before herself, especially her family. She enjoyed working in her yard and enjoyed “treats” from Bojangles.

Mary is survived by her daughter Amy Carter of the home; sister, Helen and husband James “Dick” Deans; brother, Charles Moss; nephews, Dennis Perry, Travis Blalock, Craig Watson, and Brian Watson; great nephew, Cameron Perry; and great niece, Caroline Watson.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Vernell and Alma Whitley Moss; sisters, Sandra Blalock and Betty Jean Watson; brother, Jerry Moss; and companion, Bunyon Bissette.

A special thank you goes to Helping Hands Assisted Living, Gentiva Hospice, and The Indigo of Pikeville for their dignity and respect in providing care and compassion to Mary.
