Mary Gray Crumpler, 91, of Wilson passed away Thursday, May 22, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Rev. Daylon Mooneyham and Rev. LaVon Phillips will officiate.

The family will receive friends Saturday morning, May 24, 2025, from 10 – 10:45 a.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of seventy-two years, Carris “Tommy” Crumpler; daughter, Cynthia Diane Morris of Wilson; son, Carris Wayne Crumpler and wife, Mary Jo of Wilson; grandchildren, Crystal Michele Lester and husband, Rob of Chapel Hill, Emmie Lou Morris of Wilson, and Amber Nichole Morris of Wilson; great-grandchildren, Brayden Hardy Lester, Makayla Gray Lester both of Chapel Hill, and William Earl Godwin of Wilson; sisters, Eleanor Ruth Barnes of Wilson and Laura Frances Brantley of Bailey; brother, Joseph Samuel Barnes and wife, Peggy; sister-in-law, Christine Barnes, and many beloved nieces and nephews and her special caregiver, Amie Finch.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Matilda Barnes; sister, Jacquelyn Marie Barnes; brothers, Pete Barnes and B.L. Barnes; brother-in-law, Sam Brantley, and sister-in-law, Bonnie Bell Barnes
