Matthew Bryan James

Matthew Bryan James, 61 of Nashville passed away Wednesday.  A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rise Church, Nashville.  Pastor Richard Gurganus will officiate.

The family will receive friends prior to the service Saturday afternoon from 12 – 1:30 p.m. at Rise Church, 313 W Washington Street, Nashville.

Matthew served his country with honor and pride with four years in the Air Force and nine years in the Coast Guard. 

Matthew is survived by his wife, Judith Ann James; daughters, Stefanie Manning and husband, Philip of Rocky Mount, and Sara James of Nashville; step-son, Andrew Wilson of Pensacola, Florida; step-daughter, Ashley Bell and husband, Scott of Rocky Mount; six grandchildren; sisters, Meggie James of Nashville, and Miriam Hayes and husband, Ricky of Elm City, and his brother, Mark James and wife, Jenny of Nashville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carrol and Edna James and a brother, Timothy James.
