Melanie Leigh Odom Bashore

Melanie Leigh Odom Bashore, 71, of Wilson passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026. A celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 2 – 4 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Melanie loved her career as a social worker with Wilson Medical Center. She found joy at the beach, and working outside. Melanie loved her grandson and children with all of her heart and they will  miss her greatly.

Melanie is survived by her daughter, Kristen Bashore; son, Brian Bashore; grandson, Carson Bashore, and her sister, Karen Odom.

She was preceded in death by her twin sons, Joseph and Jason Block and her parents, David and Elizabeth Odom.
