Melvie Jean Tant Lanier

Melvie Jean Tant Lanier, 81, of Wilson passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Bailey Town Cemetery, Bailey. Pastor Daniel Parker will officiate.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 12:30 – 1:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home of her daughter, Tracy and Drew Krueger.

Melvie is survived by her son, Donald Ray “Squeaky” Page, Jr.; daughter, Tracy Page Krueger and husband, Drew; grandsons, Darrell Dockery and wife, Chelsie, and Joey Dockery; step-grandsons, Richard Krueger and Brenden Krueger; great-grandsons, Dawson Dockery and Waylon Dockery; brothers Marshall Tant and Billy Tant and wife, Ann; sisters, Annie Ruffin and husband, David, Shirley Tant, and Angela Whitehead and husband, Allen, and her special cousin, Lucille Simmons.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lanier; parents, Robie and Sadie Tant, brother, Bruce Tant, and her sisters, Pearl Tant, Annie Ruth Tant, and Shelby Jean Tant.
