Mencey Owens Lynn

Mencey Owens Lynn, 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 21.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 25 at 12:00 pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.  Interment will be immediately following the funeral service at Maplewood Cemetery, 400 College Street NE, Wilson.

Family will receive friends on Friday, August 25 from 11:00 am to 11:45 am at Joyner’s Funeral Home.  The family requests friends to dress casually due to the heat.

Mencey is survived by her loving husband, Norman Lynn; nephews, Spence and wife, Doris Banks and great-nephew, Gary Banks and his daughter, Elizabeth, and Nelson Banks and wife, Sheila and great-nephew, Kody Banks; great-niece, Alisha Turner and husband Quint and their children, Davis and Hayden; great-nephew, Neil Banks and wife, Jennifer and their children, Owen and Lilly; sister, Frances Ethridge; and brother, Brooks Owens.

Mencey was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Daisy Owens and sister, Earlene Banks; brother-in-law, Owen Ethridge; sister-in-law, Marilyn Owens; brother-in-law, James Claiborne Lynn, Jr.; mother-in-law, Emma Gaydou Lynn; and father-in-law, James Claiborne Lynn, Sr.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Down East Baptist Church, 5139 Webb Lake Road, Wilson, NC 27893.
