Michael Wayne Barnes

Michael Wayne Barnes, 61, of Elm City passed away in his home of natural causes on Monday, March 13.  A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 17 at Black Creek Cemetery at 11:00 am.

Michael graduated from Beddingfield High School and worked as a machine technician at Carolina Forging Company.  He then worked as an engineer for Linamar and was also a teacher for the machine shop at Wilson Community College for a short time.

Michael is survived by his wife, Renee; daughters, Amanda Barnes and Mindy Cummings; son, Richard Barnes; grandchildren, Somer Cummings, Nick Cummings, and Connor Clark; nephews, Jason Mariano (Merri) and Christopher Mariano (Amanda); and six great nieces and nephews.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Braxton Lee Barnes and Annie Louise Barnes; and sister, Patricia Ann Barnes Agar.
