Michael Paul Gardiner, 56, of Elm City passed away Tuesday.  A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Friday evening at Eagle’s Nest Church of God, 5015 Four tenths Road, Elm City. Michael is survived by his wife, Robin Gardiner of the home; his step-son, Jimmy Glynn Edwards, Jr. of Johnston County; his step-daughter, Rebecca Lynn Fowlkes of Elm City; his grandsons, Alexander Ryan Fowlkes and Nicholas Paul Fowlkes and his sisters, Mary Bonta and husband, Gordon of Wilson, Carla Kirk and husband, Cotton of Lucama and Lu-Ann Montgomery of Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Carl Nichols and Ann Marie La Rue Nichols.  Condolences may be directed to www.joyners.net
