I remember Mike as a sweet little boy who had so much wit. He and I climbed halfway up jockeys Ridge at Nags Head. I was much older than he but was always amused by his little boy antics. Much sympathy to his wife, children and mother.

Very sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I didn't know him long but knew him well enough to know he was a good man. I enjoyed the time we spent together in Highway 17. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Bo Allen, drummer, Highway 17

I've known Mike since middle school. We were in the church youth group together. He was always a kind and thoughtful person. My prayers are with his family during this very difficult time. Earth's loss of Mike is Heaven's gain, and I'm confident we'll have a sweet reunion there one day.

I had the privilege of meeting Mike and sharing the stage in the mid 90’s while in Myrtle Beach, SC filling in as a trumpet player. He left a lasting impression on me with his phenomenal Sax skills, voice and great personality. By chance, our paths crossed again years later to become a band of brothers with East Coast R&B. Thank you for all of the fun times, great shows and the friendship along the way. Rest “Easy” my friend until we meet again!

Our friendship was short but his memory will last in our minds forever. I will remember the weekly music practice sessions we shard as the Ginger Thompson Band. His voice and Sax was unique, a wonderful combination. God speed Mike!
