Myrna Watson Keen November 10, 1939 – October 12, 2021 Myrna Watson Keen, 81 passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021. A private graveside service will be held for the immediate family at a later date. Myrna was born November 19, 1939, in Lucama, to Tony and Cula Gay Watson. The following year, the family moved to the farm where her dad grew up, and the family still lives. Myrna graduated from Rock Ridge High School in 1958, and moved to Washington, DC where she worked with the CIA. She returned home to North Carolina in 1961 and worked for a mortgage company and small bank in Henderson. In 1968, she moved to Winston-Salem and began a thirty-three-year career with Wachovia National Bank, retiring as Vice-President and Commercial Loan Officer in December 2000. After retirement, she worked for fifteen years with H & R Block Tax Service as a Tax Associate. She attended Reynolda Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School class and sang in the choir and with the Stained Glass Choral Ensemble. Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Cula Gay Watson and an infant brother. She is survived by her son, G. Paul Keen, Jr. and wife, Audrienne of Greensboro; grandchildren, Christopher Paul Keen and companion, Amirah Loza, and Grace-Anne Keen; step-grandchildren, Thomas Bunting, Benjamin Bunting, and Mary-Hannah Bunting; sister, Sandra Watson; brother, John R. “Rick” Watson and wife, Joanne; niece, Dana Watson Batchelor and husband, Brian and their children, Sydney, Harrison, and Joseph. The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to her caregivers, Elizabeth, Cheryl, Ann, Ashley, and Telley for their compassion and care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to the National Kidney Foundation, 4701 Hedgemore Drive, Suite 810, Charlotte, North Carolina 28209 or the a charity of one’s choice.
