Myrtle Roberson Creech

Myrtle Roberson Creech, 76, of Kenly passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2026. A Celebration of Life will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2026, at the Creech Family Farm, 8973 Kirby Road, Kenly with the family receiving friends immediately following the service. Rev. LaVon Phillips will officiate.

Myrtle was known throughout her life for her strong work ethic, determination, and deep love for her family and friends. For more than 50 years, she dedicated herself to the plumbing and septic industry while helping build a family legacy that continues today.

Myrtle came from a family of plumbers and learned the value of the trade at an early age. Her father was a plumber, and she and her siblings followed in his footsteps. When Myrtle began her own business, she started with just $200 and a few tools. Through years of hard work and determination alongside her husband, Donnie, Myrtle grew the family business, serving families and businesses throughout Eastern North Carolina.

Myrtle's 50 years in business are an extraordinary part of her story, but they were never the measure of her life. Her greatest legacy can be found in the family she raised, the friends she treasured, and the people she loved so deeply. She especially loved her two sons and always encouraged them to work hard, believe in themselves, and chase their dreams. One of her greatest joys was being “Mema” to her only grandson, Hunter. She loved him fiercely, took immense pride in the man he became, and treasured the special bond they shared.

Her hands may finally be at rest, but the work of her life is all around us. It lives on in her boys, in her family, in the businesses they continue to build, and in every life made better simply because Myrtle was a part of it. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Myrtle is survived by her sons, James Stacy Creech and wife, Sheryl of Wilson and Michael Travis Creech of Kenly; grandson, Hunter Creech and his fiancé, Caley of Elm City; brother, John Lee Roberson of Concord; Karen Whitman, Myrtle’s special daughter, and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Donnie Creech; parents, Carney and Ida Belle Roberson and her brothers, Carney Lee Roberson, Jr., Bobby Ray Roberson, William Earl “Shorty” Roberson and Steven Wayne Roberson.

The family wants to especially thank the wonderful caregivers for providing loving and compassionate care, Robin Bass, Arlene Johnson, Angela Langley, Kayla Caballero, Caitlin Holland, Barbie Aliff and the staff at WakeMed.

In lieu of flowers consider memorials in Myrtle’s memory to Heartland Hospice, 4515 Falls of Neuse Road, Suite 420, Raleigh, North Carolina 27609 or to Susan G. Komen, 600 Airport Boulevard, Suite 100, Morrisville, North Carolina 27560.
