Nancy Jo Barnes Burnette

Nancy Jo Barnes Burnette, 60 of Bailey passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024.   Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson.  A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2024, in Bailey Town Cemetery, Bailey.  Rev. Terry Freeman will officiate.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon immediately following the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Nancy Jo was a spunky, fun-loving, free-spirited soul.  She had a deep love for all of her family, friends, and fur babies, but most of all, her grandson, Blayden.  Her best days were spent on the beach or riding her Harley.   Though we will miss her greatly, we know she is reunited in Heaven with her soulmate, Alan.

Nancy Jo is survived by her son, Brandon Charles Earp; grandson, Blayden Chase Wilkins; sister, Cindy Barnes Harrell; brothers, Jerry Q. Barnes, Jr. and wife, Jamie, John L. Barnes and wife, Kimberley, and James “JP” Barnes and wife, Melissa; her nieces and nephews, Justin Marshall Harrell and wife, Angie, Matthew Thomas Harrell, Jerry Q. “Trey” Barnes, III, Joseph Preston Barnes, Hannah Rose Barnes Byrd and husband, Hunter, Josie Alexandra Barnes Davis and husband, Alston, Jesse Preston Barnes, Jacob Carlton Barnes, Joshua Edward Barnes, John Alan Barnes, Kristeena Beasley and husband, Allen, Bobbi Jo McBride, Robert Everette, Jr. and wife, Ashley, and Elizabeth Slavin and husband, Keith; great nieces and nephews, Matti, Morgan, Olivia, A.J., and Alex, and her fur baby, Stormi Jo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alan Lee Burnette; parents, Jerry Q. and Pattie Sue Barnes.
