Needham "Joe" Lamm

Needham “Joe” Lamm, born October 11, 1960, in Nash County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025, at the age of 65 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m.

Joe was a simple man in the truest and most admirable sense. He lived with humility, honesty, and a quiet strength that touched everyone who knew him. He valued what mattered most—family, hard work, and the comfort of familiar places. Content with life’s simplest joys, Joe found meaning in the small, everyday moments that others often overlooked.

Though soft-spoken, his presence was steady and reassuring. Joe had a way of offering support without fanfare, and his kindness left a lasting mark on the hearts of those around him. Whether sharing a laugh, lending a hand, or simply being there when needed, he lived his life by giving more than he took.

Joe was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Juanita Patterson Lamm and Joe Daniel Lamm.

He is survived by his loving family: Russell A. Lamm Jr. and his wife Barbara; Stephanie Finch and her husband David, and their children; and Stacie Murray and her husband Adam, and their children.

He also leaves behind many close friends who were like family, including Tim and Miste Strickland; Tim “Slimmy” Privette; Wanda Joyner and family; and Rhonda Strickland and family. Their friendship, loyalty, and shared memories brought great warmth to Joe’s life.

Flowers are welcome. Memorial contributions may also be made in Joe’s honor to Transitions Life Care Hospice Hospital, Raleigh, NC.

Joe will be remembered with love, gratitude, and deep respect by all who were fortunate enough to share in his journey. May he rest in peace, and may his memory continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
