Norman Lamont Crist

Norman Lamont “Bud” Crist passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, August 20,2025. Norman was born August 24,1960 in Williams County, Ohio.

Norman attended Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1983. Soon after graduating, he started his career working in the manufactured housing industry. His career spanned over 40 years and he was employed with Clayton Homes at the time of his death. Norman was a loving son, brother, uncle, friend and husband. He loved antiques, architecture and design, reading and watching anything sci-fi, sitting outside with his dog Kevin, taking vacations to the outer banks and spending time with his family and friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the Cancer Center at ECU, Norman’s oncologist, Dr. Cherukuri and her team, cancer navigator, Sherry, and all the medical staff for their help, knowledge, kindness and support during his illness.

He is preceded in death by his father, Norman Lee Crist; sister, Natalie Kaiser and her daughter, Shelby Kaiser.

He is survived by his husband, Todd Grinstead of the home; mother, Nancie Zielke of Angola, IN; sisters, Norine Garman and husband, Larry of Hamilton, IN and Nicole (Nikki) Fisher and husband, Mark of Bryan, OH; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Robyn Grinstead of Haw River, NC; nieces, Normanda (Mandy) Eyster and husband, Brandon of Angola IN, and Katelynn Crowder and husband, Travis of Graham, NC; nephews, Chris Garman and wife, Cady of Hamilton, IN, Spencer Kaiser of Denver CO, and Nathan Fisher of Bryan, OH; great nieces, Addison Eyster and Lena Crowder: great-nephews, Carson Eyster and Logan Crowder and the many dear friends who were like family to him.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for a later date.
