Odell McKeel
October 2, 1933 – August 1, 2019
Odell McKeel, 85, of Bailey passed away Thursday. His funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment to follow in Bailey Town Cemetery, Bailey. The Rev. Joseph Leonard and Rev. Ronny Aycock will officiate.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2 – 2:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson and other times at the home.
Odell served his country with honor and pride with the U.S. Army. He loved to restore old cars, fishing and watching westerns. Odell was a member of Bailey United Methodist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Odell was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Odell is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three years, Shelby Bissette McKeel of the home; daughter, Pam Taylor; son, Ricky McKeel and wife, Jill; grandchildren, Travis Boykin and wife, Rhonda, Hannah and Madison Taylor, Janelle Ordess and husband, Joseph and Jenna Lewis and husband, Andrew; great-grandchildren, Owen and Olivia Ordess, Rhett and Thorne Boykin and Scarlett Lewis; sister, Lucille Sherman and husband, Horace and his brother, James McKeel and wife, Jean.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Irene Taylor McKeel; sister, Catherine Bissette and his brother, Clifton McKeel.
