Phillip Earl Pearson, 78 of Bailey, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025.

Mr. Pearson was a Class of 1965 graduate of Rock Ridge High School, and a 1967 graduate of Wayne Technical Community College where he obtained his education in electronics. He worked for many years in his field with IBM and BB&T.

He was also a member of Westmoreland Pentecostal Holiness Church, Frontiersman Camping Fellowship (Straight Arrow), a Sunday School Teacher for over fifty years, and a Royal Rangers Commander, and served as the NC IPHC Conference Commander.

Visitation will be Monday, September 15th, from 7-8:30pm at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Pkwy, Wilson, NC. Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. on Tuesday, September, 16th, also at Joyner’s Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Bailey Cemetery. Pastors Jerry Nelson and Ricky Nelms will be officiating.

Pallbearers will be members of The Royal Rangers, and honorary pallbearers will be The Royal Rangers and Frontiersman Camping Fellowship.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Edna Etheridge Pearson; sons, Allen Pearson of Plymouth, NC, and Harold Pearson and his wife Laura of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Nathaniel Pearson and his wife Kaity of Nashville, NC, Hannah Pearson of Middlesex, NC, Anna Kate Pearson, and Emory Pearson, both of Greensboro, NC; sister, Cathy Gammon and her husband Ron of Kenly, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Robie and Vernell Mercer Pearson.
