Ray Gardner Boykin

Ray Gardner Boykin September 2, 1935 – November 1, 2021 Ray Gardner Boykin, 86 of Sims passed away Monday. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S Wilmington Street, Raleigh. Rev. Ray Wells will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 12:30 – 1:15 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Ray served his country with honor and pride with the US Army. He was a Production Coordinator with Westinghouse Corporation and Miller Industrial Supply for over fifty-seven years. Ray is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Boykin Helmink and husband, Gary Wayne of Knightdale; son, David Anthony Boykin and wife, Kim of Sims, and his grandsons, Zachary Paul Morrison, and Jackson Ray Boykin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Jones Boykin of sixty-five years; parents, Clyde and Ethel Boykin, and his sisters, Clyde Marie Boykin and Irlene Boykin.
