Rev. Billy Oxford Bailey, 68, of Middlesex passed away Friday.-A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Bailey Family Cemetery, Old Bailey Rd., Middlesex.-The Rev. George Nagel and the Rev. Ricky Sullivan will officiate.

The family will receive friends 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Monday at Joyner-s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson, and other times at the residence.

Rev. Bailey pastored churches for over 40 years, including churches in Tarboro, Micro, Ranlo, Norman, Franklinton, and Durham.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy Nagel Bailey; one son, Neil Gene Bailey and wife, Hannah of Middlesex; two sisters, Mary Alice Bailey and Judy Carolyn Braswell and husband, Phillip, all of Middlesex; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Megpie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Gene and MaeBelle B. Bailey.
