Rex Auburn Raper

Rex Auburn Raper, 84, of Wilson passed away Friday, March 13, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday morning, March 21, 2026, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Rev. Michael Crocker will officiate.

The family will receive friends Saturday morning, March 21, 2026, from 10 – 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.

Rex is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Vickie Raper; daughter, Lisa Horton and husband, Tim; son, Ronnie Raper and wife, Colleen; granddaughters, Rebecca Reaves and husband, Wade; and Ashleigh Anerton and husband, Mikey; grandsons, Joshua Raper and Brandon Horton and wife, Cristin; great grandsons, William Reaves, Hudson Reaves, Archer Reaves, Jackson Reaves and Logan Anerton, and his nephew, Christopher Brown Raper; great nephew, Tyler Raper and wife Stephanie; great great nephew, Jace Raper.

Rex was preceded in death by his parents, Mallie and Dora Raper; brother, Mallie Christopher Raper, and his nephew, Michael Quinn Raper.
